Every third Tuesday in September, the Queen reads the Speech from the Throne. It explains all the government’s plans for the next year.

She does this in the Hall of Knights, one of the government buildings in The Hague. All the ministers and parliament listen to the speech.

The Queen travels to the Hall of Knights from Noordeinde Palace in the Golden Coach. Lots of people come to see her go past. Afterwards, the Queen and some of the Royal Family appear on the balcony of Noordeinde Palace to wave to the crowds.
