Which members of the Royal House receive an allowance from the state, and how much is it?
Under the Constitution and the Royal House Finances Act (of 22 November 1972 and 2 July 1980; Bulletin of Acts and Decrees 701 and 380), the State pays allowances to three members of the Royal House: the Queen, the Prince of Orange and Princess Máxima, These allowances consist of separate components for staff costs, income and other expenses.
The allowances for 2010 are:
- the Queen: € 5,102,000
- the Prince of Orange: € 1,376,000
- Princess Máxima: € 624,000
The other members of the Royal House do not receive allowances.
