The funeral procession
On Tuesday 15 October 2002, the body of His Royal Highness Prince Claus of the Netherlands was taken with full ceremonial from Noordeinde Palace to the Nieuwe Kerk in Delft for interment in the Royal Vault.
The funeral procession proceeded from Noordeinde Palace in The Hague to the Nieuwe Kerk in Delft. The route is divided into two parts. Part of the procession, with the hearse, followed the entire route.
The first part of the route proceeded from Noordeinde Palace, via Heulstraat, Kneuterdijk, Buitenhof, Spui, Rijswijkseplein, Rijswijkseweg, Haagweg, Rotterdamseweg, Laan van Hoornwijck, Singel, Poortweg, to the Netherlands Defence College on the Brasserskade.
The immediate family proceeded by car directly to the Netherlands Defence College, where they took their places in the carriages to form the full procession.
The second part of the route proceeded from the Netherlands Defence College via Poortweg, Vrijenbanselaan, Wateringse Vest, Noordeinde, Oude Delft, Nieuwstraat, Camaretten, Raadhuis (bearing left), Markt (bearing right) to the Nieuwe Kerk.
