Committal

On Tuesday 30 March, a ceremonial procession will convey the body of Her Royal Highness Princess Juliana of the Netherlands from Noordeinde Palace in The Hague to the Nieuwe Kerk in Delft, where the Princess will be laid to rest in the Royal Vault. The procession will leave Noordeinde Palace at 09.45. The funeral service will last from 12.30 to 13.30. The officiating minister is Reverend Welmet Hudig-Semeijns de Vries van Doesburgh.

At 09.45 the funeral procession will depart from Noordeinde Palace for the Netherlands Defence College in Rijswijk, where it will be joined by the Princess’s immediate family. At 11.35 the complete procession will leave for the Nieuwe Kerk in Delft with full military honours. It will arrive at 12.15.

Members of the Royal Family who are not taking part in the procession, dignitaries from the Kingdom of the Netherlands and visiting members of royal houses will assemble in Delft town hall. The dignitaries from the Netherlands will cross Markt square to the Nieuwe Kerk on foot at 11.55. The visiting members of royal houses and the members of the Royal Family not taking part in the procession will follow at 12.00. Other guests will arrive at the Nieuwe Kerk between 10.30 and 12.00.

The funeral service begins at 12.30. The Princess will be laid to rest in the Royal Vault of the Nieuwe Kerk. At 13.30 the Royal Family and those taking part in the procession will depart for Noordeinde Palace, where guests will have an opportunity to offer their condolences.

The route from Noordeinde Palace to the Netherlands Defence College is: Front of Noordeinde Palace-Heulstraat-Kneuterdijk-Buitenhof-Spui-Rijswijkseplein-Rijswijkseweg-Haagweg-Rotterdamseweg-Laan van Hoornwijck-Singel-Poortweg-Netherlands Defence College, Brasserskade.

The route from the Netherlands Defence College to the Nieuwe Kerk in Delft is: Poortweg-Vrijebanselaan-Wateringse Vest-Noordeinde-Oude Delft-Nieuwstraat-Camaretten-around the town hall (to the left)-around Markt square (to the right)-Nieuwe Kerk.
