Flag etiquette & instructions for bell-ringing
All government buildings fly the Dutch flag at half-mast and without a pennant from the day of the Princess’s death until the end of the day of the funeral. No flags are flown on Sundays. Institutions, businesses and members of the public may observe the same etiquette.
Instructions for bell-ringing:
on the day of the funeral bell-ringing
to mark the death of Princess Juliana is permitted only during the
service. On other days bells may be rung at times they would
normally be rung. This means that bells may be rung on 30 March
before and after the service. Other local or customary expressions
of mourning are permitted. This instruction also applies to mosques
and other places of worship.
The funeral will take place in Delft from 12.30 to 13.30.
