National Wedding Gift

The National Wedding Gift, as its name implies, is the wedding gift from the people of the Netherlands to the Prince of Orange and Ms Máxima Zorreguieta. The gift consists of a personal gift and a charitable fund - the Orange Fund - into which donations from private individuals and the business community is placed. The Fund has been established by the National Orange Committee and is chaired by the former Minister of Economic Affairs, Dr G.J. Wijers. The couple are the patrons of the Fund.

The National Wedding Gift was presented to the Royal Couple during the National Celebration Evening on 1 February 2002, in the Amsterdam ArenA stadium.
