Parents of the bride

Jorge Horacio Zorreguieta was born on 28 January 1928. He became president of the Argentine Sugar Centre in 1984 and has been a member of the Argentine Industrial Union since 1988. Mr Zorreguieta is also the chairman of the Argentine Basque Union Juan de Garay.

A former member of the Argentine government, Mr Zorreguieta was the chairman of the National Grains Board from 1977 to 1978, the Under-secretary of Agriculture from 1976 to 1979 and the Secretary of National Agriculture and Livestock from 1979 to 1981.

Mr Zorreguieta has been actively involved in international trade negotiations relating to agricultural products. He presently concentrates on the sugar trade.

He is married to Maria del Carmen Cerruti, born 8 September 1944. The couple have four children.
