Engagement of Prince Willem-Alexander and Miss Máxima Zorreguieta

At 18.00 hours on Friday, 30 March 2001, Her Majesty the Queen announced the engagement of His Royal Highness Prince Willem-Alexander, Prince of Orange, Prince of the Netherlands, Prince of Orange-Nassau, Jonkheer Van Amsberg, and Ms Máxima Zorreguieta. The announcement was broadcast live on television in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Claus of the Netherlands and the Engaged Couple.
