Nederlands Dans Theater performs for Prince of Orange and Máxima Zorreguieta, Thursday 10 January

The Nederlands Dans Theater is to stage a special performance at the Lucent Danstheater in The Hague on Thursday 10 January for His Royal Highness the Prince of Orange and Miss Máxima Zorreguieta, in honour of their forthcoming wedding. The performance will feature two ballets, Bella Figura by Jiøí Kylián and Simple Things by Hans van Manen. Her Majesty the Queen, His Royal Highness Prince Claus of the Netherlands and other members of the royal family will also attend. Friends of the couple have also been invited along with representatives of many sections of Dutch society.

The royal family has long shown an interest in the Nederlands Dans Theater, which was therefore keen to offer the couple a special performance as a wedding gift. The ballets chosen are by its resident choreographers Jiøí Kylián and Hans van Manen and are among the best works currently in its repertoire. Bella Figura will be performed by the main company NDT I while NDT II, a company of young dancers, will perform Hans van Manen’s Simple Things.
