PROGRAMME OF THE ROYAL WEDDING ON 2-2-2002
The wedding of His Royal Highness the Prince of Orange and Ms Máxima Zorreguieta will take place on 2 February 2002 in Amsterdam. The programme for 2 February will be broadly as follows:
10.15 -10.45 hrs: Civil ceremony
The civil ceremony will be conducted by the Mayor of Amsterdam, Job Cohen, in the Beurs van Berlage building. The ceremony will be attended by family members, government representatives and invited guests from the municipality of Amsterdam, the provinces and other parts of the Kingdom.
11.30-13.00 hrs: Church blessing
The Church blessing of the marriage will take place in the Nieuwe Kerk church. The ceremony will be attended by family and friends of the Royal Couple, royal guests and government representatives.
13.00-13.30 hrs: Coach tour
Following the ceremony in the Nieuwe Kerk church, the Royal Couple will tour the centre of Amsterdam in the Golden Coach. The tour will start from the Nieuwe Kerk, proceed down Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal, Spui and Singel, then turn left at Muntplein and proceed up Rokin to finish at the Royal Palace on Dam square.
13.30-13.45 hrs: Balcony appearance
At 13.30 hrs the Royal Couple will
appear to the public from the balcony of the Royal Palace on Dam
square.
A private dinner and reception will be held for special guests on
Thursday, 31 January in the Royal Palace in Amsterdam (start: 18.30
hrs).
On Friday, 1 February a lunchtime concert will be given by the
Royal Concertgebouworkest Orchestra in the Concertgebouw in
Amsterdam (12.00-15.00 hrs).
On the evening of Friday, 1 February the Royal Couple will attend
an event organised by the National Orange Committee and the
municipality of Amsterdam in the Amsterdam Arena stadium (start:
19.45 hrs).
